The Juneau Raptor Center is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non profit organization. The only exception to this status is during the summer season when two naturalists are hired to work with the Center's education bird at the top of the tram. The naturalists are paid primarily from donations made by visitors to the eagle facility at the top of the tram during the summer season.
We receive no government funding and rely primarily on yearly memberships and fund-raising events held each year.
We welcome your membership whether you are a new or renewing member. Memberships are used to care for non-releasable birds as well as those that will be rehabilitated/released back into the wild or placed with another permitted facility.
After you become a member, there are many volunteering opportunities. You can train to become a bird caretaker, handler or other positions. We have many opportunities where we can use your help and put your expertise to use. Please leave a message at (907) 586-8393, we will call you back and give you more information.
Your support is appreciated very much!
